Episode 4: Aimee Baker explains forming the braided essay and New Delta Review nonfiction editor talks craft

Slow and steady wins the race.

That’s the impression I got after my interview with writer Aimee Baker who discussed her nonfiction essay “This Monstrous Heart” which ran in New Delta Review last December.  Aimee admitted that she doesn’t have time to put words on the page everyday, but she’s always writing in her head. When she gets the time, she forms those ideas into pieces that – at least in terms of “This Monstrous Heart” – may easily become masterpieces.

But in the words of the first book reviewer I ever knew – don’t take my word for it.

Also, I scored an exclusive interview with Michael Rands, the nonfiction editor of New Delta Review. If you want to get in that journal, it behooves you to listen to this episode!
